Terspichorean Dance Studio and Company, Bend, Oregon
In ancient Greek mythology, the muse, Terpsichore, was the inspiration to dancers.  Her name translates joy in the dance.

Dress Code

"To feel like a dancer, you must look like a dancer"

DRESS CODE FOR ALL TERPSICHOREAN DANCE CLASSES:

  • No jeans or binding pants are allowed in any class
  • Hair must be pulled back, out of the face
  • No loose jewelry

CHILDREN'S COMBINATION CLASSES
  • Leotards and tights of any color
  • Skirts & warm-ups optional (no pants except jazz pants or shorts for tap)
  • Appropriate shoes


CREATIVE MOVEMENT
  • Leotards and footless tights of any color
  • Skirts & warm-ups optional
  • Bare feet


MODERN DANCE
  • Comfortable dancewear
  • Footless tights


BALLET
  • WOMEN:
    • Leotards of any color (solid colors preferred for older dancers)
    • Tights (pink preferred for older dancers, convertibles for Pointe)
    • Skirts & warm-ups optional (no shorts except dance shorts, no jazz pants)
    • Ballet shoes (pink preferred for girls & women)
    • Hair off the neck & no bangs in upper levels (no bangs below eye brows on young dancers)
  • MEN:
    • Fitted dance pants, or tights (black preferred) & white or black T-shirt or leotard
    • Ballet shoes (black or white)


TAP
  • Stretchy pants (cannot touch floor) & T-shirt, or leotard & tights
  • Appropriate black tap shoes and thin dance socks


JAZZ
  • Leotard & tights, biketard, shorts or jazz pants with T-shirt (any color)
  • Black jazz or ballet shoes & thin dance socks (jazz sneakers may not be used every week)


LYRICAL
  • Ballet or jazz attire
  • No jazz sneakers


HIP HOP
  • Funky loose clothes
  • No street shoes (jazz shoes, jazz sneakers, ballet shoes, socks or bare feet)


MUSICAL THEATRE
  • Jazz attire
